A stupid survey answered entirely in Shakespeare quotes.

Title: Tea for Two Pairings: TOKO, Maiko, Sukka. and others. Rating: PG Summary: Five years post-finale. Peace talks did not go well for the Fire Nation, forcing Zuko to give up some of the things he loves the most.
You know what? Teoph has possibilities.

Please, please, please tell me this is true. Oh, Internet, you have led me astray before. But, please, be kind to me this time.
OMG SO AWESOME
If this is true, there had better be a cd.

The cold hand of reality has just slapped me in the face.
There are people . . . Who. Don't. Like. Books.
I'm not joking!
Perhaps I've merely been living in a bubble for the greater part of my life, but this truth about the world has escaped my notice until recently. This revelation dawned on me slowly, but I now stand in broad daylight.
The other day, I was buying a book and the cashier said something like, "Oh! Are you one of those people who like to read?"
After a stunned silence, I replied, "Yeah . . . You aren't?"
The last book this woman had read was in high school! I can't even imagine a state of being were I'm not reading a book. Right now, I believe I'm reading four.
So . . . am I the norm? Or are they?

This is a point I’ve been wanting to make for awhile. For me, my following of the Harry Potter fandom died shortly after reading Deathly Hallows’ epilogue. I closed the book and heaved a sigh of relief that I would never have to peruse message boards, daily check Mugglenet, or speculate over future plot twists again. However, I wanted to post this bit of analysis just to get it out of my system. Dagnabit, I like analyzing children’s fiction. On a somewhat related note, EVERYONE should read Do Androids Dreaming of Electric Sheep? by Philip K. Dick. That book is freakin' BRILLIANT! It's slightly Brave New World-esque, but no orgies and no WTF? ending. The best aspect of it -- the thing that separates it from the "bleak future" novels -- is that instead of a totalitarian government subjecting its people to its morality, the people themselves embrace the new ethics. The book is beautifully written with fascinating characters and themes. READ IT. . . . . . . . . . . . . I feel so nerdy.

This winter break, I had planned to finish Twilight Princess. So, this morning, I dig out the case and crack it open and --
IT'S GONE!
The tiny, little disc that I must insert in my Gamecube to play the game is missing. I searched my room high and low but I can't find it. With any luck, it'll show up two weeks after I break down and re-buy the game.
Ugh, I was so close to finishing too! I had collected all the poes! Almost finished my lovely collection of heart pieces! I was in the Twilight Palace!
AAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!

I am in a permanent state of frozen. Socks? A cotton-y example of man's futile struggle against the elements. When, O when, will my frosty footsicles thaw?
Well, as Kynes said, I am desert creature. An aversion to the chillier weather comes with the territory. Tomorrow, however, I plan to gear up against what promises to develop into a long winter. With the power of my discount and unspent birthday money, I plan to buy a really warm coat and gloves for future exploits in the out of doors.
But I has kitten now.
Her name is Rigel, and she's a fluffy ball of adorability. <3

So, yeah, when Walmart set up its Halloween section before August had even ended, I thought that was pretty pathetic. But, today, I ventured over to Kmart and saw not only Halloween stuff galore, but the beginnings of its Christmas display.

So, I haven't posted anything in a while, and I'm feeling bizarrely chipper right now. Really, I could run outside and scream, "Hooray for life!" Why? Not sure. Maybe it's all the pieces of my happy puzzle finally clicking together, maybe it's the the terrible tangles finally unraveling, maybe it's all that chocolate I've been eating recently. Either way, I am content.
Going to get Deathly Hallows at midnight tomorrow; the anticipation enfolds my being like a very thick woolen blanket. I feel that, once I've read the last page, I will either meet my instant death as I will then be completely fulfilled, or the universe will just implode. Which is it, I wonder? Of course, the major question to be answered in this book is where Severus Snape's loyalties lie. Just for the record (and so people can poke and prod me and tell me I was wrong), I am currently displaying a "Trust Snape" sticker in the back of my car.
Oh, and I've got a job at Walmart now. It's okay - and the sweet moola makes the tedium bareable.
And I'm on a writing kick! I've written two Avatar: The Last Airbender fics, and I have the makings of an original work. Huzzah! I'll have to post the links eventually.
Yeah . . . that's it.

Go see Meet the Robinsons! It's an absolutely fantastic movie. Combining everything from terrific animation to humor to a warm-hearted moral, this movie will truly rock your socks. The Bowler Hat Guy steals the show. Really, I'm glad to see Disney produce something like this after its numerous flops. Hopefully, something just as good will grace the non-3D animation department. (Maybe The Frog Princess, set to come out in 2009?) On a none related note, there was a preview before Meet the Robinsons of yet another penguin movie. WHEN WILL THE MADNESS END?

Girlish giggles taunt me as I plummet to my death, over and over. An upbeat, looping soundtrack - reminiscent of an 80's sitcom theme song - becomes my eternal funeral dirge.
I'm speaking, of course, about a sled race with Yeta, an adorable abominable snow-woman who dresses like a Babushka doll.
- from Thomas Happ's blog, http://www.thomashapp.com/
Yup, that about sums it up. I can't tell you have many times I've raced Yeta, only to meet my fate at the bottom of an icy ravine. Twice has sweet victory been in my grasp, but both times it was wrenched from me at last moment, either by sledding of a cliff, or sledding into a wall. At this point, I would willingly give up, but the prize, a heart piece, is vital to my heart piece collection! Once I beat the Twilight Palace, all I will require is that heart piece to have all twenty hearts! But, as Mr. Happ says, the Babushka doll stands in my way. Alas! After around the twentieth time of losing to Yeta, I no longer felt sorry for whacking her upside the head with the ball and chain. In fact, I really, really enjoyed it.

I finally recover from my post-Christmas splurge, and what happens? Disney releases Peter Pan from the Disney vault! Now, I can resist the temptation of several Disney movies, but Peter Pan? Never!* So, after school on Tuesday last, I frolick merrily down to the store and purchase not only the two disc special edition but some adorable Peter Pan plushies, as well. Thus, my wallet has emptied.
I think the main reason I purchased the dolls (One, a quaint Peter, and the other, a smiling Wendy), was that I was so excitied to see Peter Pan merchandise that wasn't Tinkerbell-centric. Tinkerbell's fine, but holy cow! Books! Backpacks! T-shirts! Toothpaste! And poor Wendy left in the cold while Peter gets the occasional, and sometime distrubing**, action figure. Need I remind the preteen set of girls that this spunky fairy has attempted murder?
However, I have finally finished all the nifty extras the platinum edition has provided me (Except some: I refuse to watch the music video.) and I feel something of a kindred spirit with Walt Disney after viewing his explaination of his own love of Barrie's classic. For no reason I can find, I absolutely adore Peter Pan in all its forms, Disney's, actually, being my least favorite. It really is genius.
* Curse Disney and its monopoly on my childhood memories. ** Here.
